Organization
The Frontiers in Computational ElectroCardiology workshop is organized by Dr. Ronald Westra and Dr. Paul Volders.
 | Ronald L. Westra, PhD studied theoretical physics in Utrecht. He held various positions as researcher and group leader in science and industry, including the University of Amsterdam (UvA) and the Free University of Brussels (ULB). Since 1997 he works at the Department of Mathematics (now Maastricht ICT Competence Centre; MICC) of Maastricht University, as research manager and Associate Professor. In this position he initiated and managed several national and international research collaborations related to applied mathematics, resulting in six European Union funded research projects and one funded by the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO/STW). In recent years he is involved in a number of research projects related to bioinformatics and computational genomics, and responsible for teaching in those areas. |
