Speakers

Inge R. Boulet, PhD
"Chair Session 1: Microscopic models of cardiac bioelectricity"

Postdoctoral Researcher, Maastricht University, The Netherlands

Inge R. Boulet obtained her Master degree in Biochemistry at the University of Leuven, Belgium in 2002. In 2007, she successfully defended her PhD thesis at the University of Antwerp, based on results obtained in the laboratory of Prof. Dr. Dirk Snyders (Department of Biomedical Sciences). Her PhD thesis is entitled “Structure and Function Analysis of the KCNQ1 Channel in Relation to the LQT1 Syndrome”.

Currently, Dr. Boulet is working as a post-doctoral researcher in the laboratory of Dr. Paul Volders at the Cardiovascular Research Institute Maastricht (Department of Cardiology). Her current investigations are aimed at bridging the gap between the patient and basic electrophysiology by characterizing biophysical properties of genetic mutations found in cardiac ion channels.
