Volders, MD, PhD "Introductory remarks to workshop on behalf of organizers" "Chairman Session 1: Microscopic Models of Cardiac Bioelectricity" Cardiologist, Maastricht University Medical Centre Assistant Professor of Cardiology, School for Cardiovascular Diseases, Maastricht University Paul G.A. Volders, MD, PhD is Cardiologist at Maastricht University Medical Center, The Netherlands, where he holds a Junior Staff Position with support of the Netherlands Heart Foundation. His primary clinical responsibility is Cardiogenetics. Dr. Volders is appointed as Assistant Professor at the School for Cardiovascular Diseases in Maastricht. As Co-Principal Investigator at the Cardiovascular Research Institute Maastricht, he leads a team of 9 postdocs, PhD students and technicians with a special interest in Translational Cardiac Electrophysiology. Dr. Volders is an Elected Nucleus Member of the European Society of Cardiology Working on Cardiac Cellular Electrophysiology and an Elected Working Group Representative at the ESC Council on Basic Cardiovascular Science.
